Artfully Asian
Last week my new stamps & wheels arrived. "Artfully Asian" is one I've liked for a long time & with this months free wheelin' offer I couldn't resist. I also got "Nursery Necessities" & "Merry Merry", I will keep you posted on those plays!
The colours I chose Kraft, Real Red & Whisper White, I wheeled "Watercolour Vine" with my Sahara Sand ink, the blossom is stamped in Real Red, this piece is also stamped with "Linen" background in Sahara Sand. I watercoloured a little with Real Red & Wild Wasabi inks with my Aquapainter & then I just highlighted some with my white gel pen. The 3 brads were silver & to get them white you just heat the brad with a heat tool held with tweezers then dip the hot brad into white embossing powder, then heat it up again until it melts on. Since I had my powder out I decided to also emboss the message, "Each day provides its own gifts"
Here's another Artfully Asian card, The ribbon is Kraft Tafetta & I used the Double Rectangle punch,- remember this card from my make-n-takes at last Summers Mini launch.

Inspired by a painting
I have been browsing home magazines lately & decided to case this card from a piece of artwork that caught my eye, I loved the colours & thought this would make a great card for the modern male, I silver embossed, crimped & simply punched circles, the colours are Naturals Ivory, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey & the sadly retired 2007-2008 in colour Cool Caribbean, I am loving this years in colours though & love the thought of some new ones next year as well, Baja Breeze will be a great replacement for my greatly missed Cool Caribbean & It will probably also be my favourite along with Pink Pirouette or maybe Riding Hood Red, don't you just love some of the names!
Wild Rose for mum
I finally mounted my "Frames with a Flourish" stamp set, I silver embossed one on Whisper White CS & cut it out, I 2 step stamped (most with the SAMJ) the "Wild Rose" & leaves in Rose Red & Old Olive, also cut out and adhered with dimensionals. The card is Old Olive & the top has "En Francais" for the background inked in Old Olive, I thought it would be a little tricky lining up the script lengthways, but I got it first time! The bottom of the card has some DS paper in Rose Red, the join is covered with some White Taffeta Ribbon, & the card is finished off with some "Pretties". Happy Birthday mum!
This one is for my Niece for her confirmation, I love how you can create your own patterned paper from stamps! "Floral" coordinates beautifully with "Wild Rose"

Petal Prints ghost card
Look familiar? that's if your a SU demonstrator & you've got your September issue of Impressions.
For my customers out there, this technique is called ghosting & is very easy & very effective.
You will need a Brayer, Vellum CS & ink. Ink the brayer well by rolling it over the pad & then roll over the vellum until it is evenly coated with ink, quickly stamp a clean dry stamp onto the vellum to lift off the ink, allow it to dry thoroughly before adhering to your project. Colours are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue, I love this colour combination.

Bag in a Box
I came across yet another great & easy tutorial & this one holds alot of chocolates! it stands 14cm tall. I've used my favourite DS paper Apple Cider & coordinating CS -Chocolate Chip, River Rock & Really Rust. happy thoughts from "Think Happy Thoughts" stamp set is inked in Chocolate Chip & punched out with 1 1/4" circle punch, I stamped the little flower on Really Rust CS with Really Rust ink, cut it out & attached it to the 1 1/4" circle with a vintage brad which is attached to a 1 3/8" Really Rust circle with a dimensional & then this is snailed onto a Chocolate Chip scallop -instead of piercing the scallops I used my White Gel pen & just dotted, I aslo did this for the attached scalloped strip at the bottom of the box -scalloped with the Cnr Rounder punch. I used the Round Tab punch for the Chocolate Chip tabs that have Jumbo eyelets set with the Crop-A-Dile -perfect for the Satin Ribbon closure!
Tips;
Use 2 tabs so you can open & close it, see pic below.
Do use sticky strip, snail isn't strong enough when its filled!
Reduce the measurements suggested in the tutorial for cute smaller ones.
Have fun!
