Raising funds for Queenlands flood relief

Apologies for not posting much in the past 2 months, no excuses except having so much on & even though I'm still keeping busy, I'm getting back into the swing of all things related to my stamping. Classes resume this Wednesday & I have scheduled & started prepping for a day of stamping in Sydney on the 13th February, more on that below but first I want to thank my family & friends for their concern about our well being, thankfully we were not directly affected by the floods that have devastated so many in Queensland, we have never been so scared or imagined it would be as catastrophic or even thought about what the aftermath would bring to Queensland & other states in Australia. Time will heal as they say & life must go on, this seems impossible for some, those that have lost everything, particularly loved ones. As I watch (I can't anymore) the TV reporting/interviewing & even seeing some the devastation with my own eyes has made my heartache & my thoughts & prayers constantly go out to all affected. Many of us are helping, physically, financially, mentally, whatever the way, every little bit helps & this will help speed up the recovery & clean up the unbelievable mess.
Today I proudly read that Stampin' Up! are donating $2 from the sale of any Stamp Set (over $30 value) to Queenslands State Emergency Services, this will run until the 15th February. These dates coincide with SAB so we can expect this effort to raise funds much more substantial as Stampin' Up! give away free stamp sets for $100 spends.
I have with much thought decided to go ahead with a full day of stamping on the 13th February in Sydney, details are posted on my demonstrator website in calendar of events, I do hope you can join me on this day as I raise as much funds as possible, I really want this to be successful so I will be donating all the profits made on the day & 10% of my sales from now until then. If you can't afford to attend just yet,  email me & I would be happy to arrange a payment plan for you, I will be raffling off lots of Stampin' Up! products, all my surplus products & products that Stampin' Up! have kindly donated. All your make-n-takes for the day will be prepared along with meals & lucky door prize entry's.
If you RSVP before the 5th February you will receive an extra lucky door prize entry.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Stampin' Up! have a sweet little treat on at the moment & apart from Valentines day wishes, this set can be used for sending a note of thoughts & prayers & heartfelt thanks;

Purchase the Sweetheart Stamp set (woodmount or clear mount) or the the Full Heart Punch and receive a pack of 12 Treat Heart Cups and when you buy the Sweetheart Stamp Set and the matching punch you receive two packs of the Treat Heart Cups!
Promotion dates are from 30th December 2010 to 24th January 2011

stamped candle

I found use for the extra large ribbon I weaved from my first attempt (video link on how to here).
I loved the idea of embossing foil, (shown to me by my team member Cheryl at our last team meeting) so I gave it a go with my simple SAS design bauble card.
On another note I have managed to create a watermark in pages, long process & I hope I'm able to use it & do it again, LOL, atleast until I get the appropriate software for mac.

Welcome Christmas

I have a lot of catching up to do here on my blog, so much has happened & to cut a long story short, the main reason for me not blogging is because my pc crashed & I lost everything!!! On the bright side I now have an apple mac & digital SLR camera to enjoy & learn all about.
So wish me luck!

I decided to share my favourite Christmas card design first.
Welcome Christmas with VintageWallpaper embossing folder that I inked up with a brayer on the right side with basic black ink before running the Vanilla CS through the Big Shot. I did the crackle glass technique on the family image & embossed the ribbon with Petals A Plenty folder. I shared this technique at my recent Summer mini launch in Sydney demoing the Big Shot & this was everyones favourite.
I used the gorgeous Red satin ribbon here, but it also works on grosgrain. You need to adhere the ribbon onto CS, I used double sided tape, but snail will work, just apply it to the CS which should be the same colour & size as the ribbon you are using. I am very impresssed with the new Vintage tags available in the Summer Mini, they shimmer & sit well. I added a little red heart to the other side, gorgeous don't you think?
There's not enough days left before Christmas to show you these cards individually so I've grouped them.
I used Elegant Soiree DSP (one of my favourites) & added Real Red for Christmas, another couple of new summer mini products I used are the Pinking Hearts Punch & Lace.

Back soon with samples from the New Summer Mini.

Fancy Favour tea light holders

How pretty is this Luminere with the Flocked Cocoa Specialty DSP , I made a matching Tag with the ornament I punched out of the box & decorated the tealight with DSP & the left over top strip from the Fancy Favour cut (had to use that up, LOL). The Reindeer is from Winter Post & he's white Embossed onto Vellum CS, the ribbon is red satin.
Below are a few different takes made at my Christmas Class

Welcome Christmas

I wasn't going to get anymore Christmas sets but when I saw the gorgeous Cocoa Specialty DSP  was available & FREE Ribbon, (I chose Missletoe Ribbon Originals -(a roll of Old Olive Taffeta & a roll of White stitched) I couldn't resist & Welcome Christmas was on my wishlist a few times!
Isn't the wreath special, it's Ribbon Weaving & if you haven't tried it you must, it's easy, here is a link to a video tutorial.
Another technique I'm loving is swiping White Craft ink over embossed CS, here it makes Petals A Plenty look pink on the Rich Razzleberry CS & on this card it actually looks like fabric.
Colours I've used here are Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry & Very Vanilla.
For the next card I used Cocoa Specialty DSP & colours that match -every sheet is gorgeous, especially the couple that are flocked -Will have a play with those soon.

This card was inspired by the sample in the catalogue. I Ribbon Weaved Rich Razzleberry 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, stamped tone on tone with Old Olive & with the label I outlined it to look like an extra mount with Rich Razzleberry Marker before cutting it out,  it's hard to see in the pic but it worked quite well, giving extra colour & dimension without having to cut it out twice.

Pizza Party this Way Birthday Invitations

I love doing Invites & these are the lastest ones I recently finished. Designed for a Woodfired Pizza Party in the Park. I used "Party This Way" Stamp Set & the colours are Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumkin pie, Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight. I love the matching Envelopes (masked the balloons). I'm also doing matching party favours but can't show you those 'till after the party.
Here's a close up so you can see the detail. Lots of punching, cutting & I even sewed the Linen thread through the Banner which was stamped directly onto the Whisper White peice with Poppy Parade ink using the SAMJ, then I stamped again tone on tone with Daffodil Delight & PumPkin Pie & cut out the inside triangle to layer ontop of the poppy Parade ones.

Wedding cards

I'm still here! Have been creating but a little slack posting & now I have lots to catch up! I thought I'd start with wedding cards as we have had a few on lately & am also making & helping create wedding stationary at the moment.

The first one is a complete case from my downline Tracey, one of her class cards. I love the Rhinestones in the centre of the scallop flower & the elegance of Black & White, gorgeous card Tracey & thanks for letting me post it here.

Again Elegant in Black & Vanilla, I made 2 very similar but forgot to take a pic of the one just behind which had Pearls on it. With the Elegant Lines embossing folder you can make wedding / anniversary cards in a couple of minutes, gotta love that.
Next is  Punch Potpourri & Bella Toile. A lot more work in this one & alot going on but I so enjoyed having a play with this very popular hostess set. Colours are Pirouette Pink & Chocolate Chip.

Last but not least another Elegant & simple design in Baja Breeze & White which is suitable for other occassions as well & many other colour combo's.
