Fabulous Florets

I was lucky to receive this gift at convention (Prize Patrol). You should have seen how excited I got when I saw my name on the screen. I so wanted to win for a change & I'm sure I willed it to happen.
I have had little time since to play with it but thought I'd share so far what I have managed.
I used the new colourful DSP Beyond the Garden in the envelopes. the cards are 3 x 3"'s. Melon Mambo CS & Embossing Powder, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, "Fabulous Florets" & "You're a Gem" stamp sets.
This one was one of my open home cards.
Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Confetti White & Whisper White are the colours of inks & CS.

Simply Adorned

Sandy received her gift for winning the Christmas swap votes. The complete Simply Adorned range comes in brown box's so I just tied a ribbon around the box with Seam Binding & added a clay disc that I stamped on & some twine.

I have ordered myself a necklace as I love making the inserts for the simply adorned 2.5 x 3.2 cm charm, this is the largest we have -so many more options.

Wine / Bottle Toppers

These make a fabulous addition to a gift when giving bottles this Christmas. There's so many gourmet delights in bottles these days, not limited to acohol -one of my favourites is Pukara Estates Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar as a salad dressing & hubby uses it to marinate beef, so if you see a bottle grab some you will be the hostess with the mostess at your next BBQ.
I'm getting excited, oh how I love Christmas & Summer. Remember to enjoy the festive season -for me it has begin, yippee!
Back to the toppers the top one I sized according to the bottle -just started with a rectangle piece of CS & punched a 1 3/4" circle at the top, scored it & cut out a V.
Ingredients: Fabulous Florate, Stitched Stockings & Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamps, Real Red & Old Olive & Whisper White CS, Real Red & Whisper White craft ink, Stocking & Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch's, Fine Supernova Glitter & Bakers Twine.

The second one I used the Two Tags Die. Teeny Tiny Sentiments (merry Christmas stamp from this set), Music Notes Wheel. Baja Breeze, Confetti White, Early Espresso CS, Old Olive & Early Espresso inks, Letters to Santa DSP, Glimmer Paper (I die cut the zig zag with Tasteful Trim Die) & Espresso Twine for the bow.

Blog candy winner & Candy Wrapper Die

Number 3 was the lucky blog candy # so congratulations Heather, the set of chipboard cards are in the post for you.
It was very close, between #7 -which happened to be a case of Teneale Williams, but with 5 votes card #4 was most favoured by my blog readers -thank you everyone who left a comment & congratulations Sandy,  a special gift will be in the post for you next week, I will share a pic after you have received it, so it's a surprise for you.
Now for some pics of the new Candy Wrapper BigzDie.
First here are the ever so cute ones I made wrapped with the new "Beyond the Garden DSP" for order Thank you gifts for a recent workshop I did.

We made these at recent team meeting - just having a play to see what ideas we came up, I love the use of Glimmer paper.

And here are a couple of variations, the first one cut out with Cheerful Treat DSP is extended (find the tutorial on how to here),  it fits a full size chocolate bar (inside this one, but not for long is a dark choc cherry ripe). The Wisteria Wonder one with Flirtatious DSP wrapped around it has a closure where the scores at the end are folded the opposite way. I fiddled for a bit but once you work it out it's easy after that. Watch Dawns video on assembling the Candy Wrapper Die here.

 A pic showing you the difference in size;

Lolly Buffet Fancy Favour

I didn't get a good pic on my camera & can't wait for a better to share the wedding last weekend. I ran 120 Fancy Favours through the Bigshot! The wedding was a Black & White dress, so they were Black with white twine wrapped around 3 times & tied in a bow & a stamped heart from I {Heart} Hearts stamp set with matching punch finished them off nicely. The labels for the lollies were stamped with one of the "Four Frames" stamp set & punched out with the matching Decorative Label punch. White & Black Satin Ribbon kept it elegant.

Manhattan Wedding card & "Die" Sale

The Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is a popular choice for a wedding card & this month its only $13.45.
I bookmarked this page so long ago as a must CASE & finally I have & I love it. This is the first time I've used Mocha Morning specialty DSP, apart from that only Very Vanilla CS used on this card, the happy I do day is from "Word Play" -the bling on the ring is such a nice finishing touch.

Two Tags Stitched Stocking Tag

I love this idea of adding one of the Two Tags to the front of a card, (my Vanilla piece measures 7.3cm & 19.2cm, scored at 9.6cm) I tucked the top in under the slit & corner rounded the edges. The Designer Frame embossing folder fits perfectly on the front & nicely layering in that is the large oval punch that has been wheeled with music notes, I couldn't resist adding Swirls & Scribbles sizzlits die cut. The stocking has been embossed with Cherry Cobbler Powder -a mini library clip stops it floating & I wrapped some Cherry Cobbler Seam binding around the top to hide the slit & score. The cord/string I recycled from clothing labels/tags.

Tagtastic Thanks

A super easy but wow card to share.
2 of the Decorative label punch outs creates this fabulous shaped mount for the 1 3/4" circle punch. Adding some cross stitching with linen thread is so easy to do on the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Border punch.

SU! Fabric Pin Cushions

With Christmas just around the corner, we need to start on those handmade gifts & these are perfect for that. Timeless Portrait & Beau Chateau fabric with the Scallop Square Bigz Die & in between the 2 pieces of fabric I have added some felt & matching buttons, real easy sewing here! The triangular one was a bit more tricky & uses 4 pieces of fabric, I have a few more versions to try. Also in this pic is a Timeless Portrait fabric Fun Flower bookmark, these are also easy & a great gift to give with a book. I'll be making some more so I will show more detail on how to make those when I do.

pocket full of kusudama flowers & bookmark

My favourite DSP would have to be Pocket Full of Posies & I just had to see what every sheet looked like folded into a kusudama flower. These flowers are pretty easy to make, a little time consuming making 1/2 a dozen, LOL. A wonderful step by step tutorial to follow here. My only tip is to use sticky strip with DSP, this is the strongest adhesive I believe.

A simple corner book mark with a Kusudama flower attached. Each petal is 2" squares of First Edition Specialty paper, this DSP is thinner than the basic DSP we have so it's perfect for folding the flowers & snail adhesive has kept it together but be sure to burnish together well.

A special thank you

How special do you feel when you receive a package full of gorgeous, inspiring, handmade creations like these? well I'll tell you because I felt super special when Sandy handed me THE case (Sandy Thank you, you knew & remembered I wanted just the case when it was available with products contained & you have ever so kindly parted with yours) wrapped up in my favourite Ribbon & tied in a big bow. I could see inside was a gorgeous "Flower Fest" handmade box & the excitement & oh's just kept going, as I opened it I saw all the new in colours used on beautiful gift cards & matching crochets flowers adorned them. (Sandy thank you for the crocheted flowers you made extra for me, I look forward to using those on some special cards soon). Sandy had tried to explain to me on the phone how she had a class that everyone so enjoyed making the milk carton sheep & matching cards & also the Christmas one, I imagined they would be cute but IRL they are super cute & a must CASE. I keep telling Sandy to start a blog so we can all see all her gorgeous creations & I'm hoping that will happen soon.

Thank you so so much Sandy, I am blessed & so lucky to have you on my team.
