Carousel Bag-A-Lope & lovenotes holder

This was the first thing I made when I got these versatile Carousel notes last month.
I still have other things to try, but for now I want to show you these. If you havn't tried the Bag-A-Lope & need instructions pop me an email. I adjusted the scoring & cutting to minimal & Wheeled "Lot's of Dot's" all over the Carousel envelope in White Craft ink. The scallop Carousel note topper is scored on both sides of the centre scallops & adhered it to the back quite high to hold standard cards & envelopes. The loves notes holder is scored at 1 1/4" on 2 sides & 1 3/4" at the bottom & simply folded at these score lines & held together with a belly-band, tie your belly-band around it once you have your lovenotes created & inside, this one holds 3, but only 1 is in it for the pic.

Ocean Commotion cards

A little detailed & my favourite (so far) Ocean Commotion card with embossing, a faux metal flower from Eastern Bloom sprinkled with Chunky Glitter & 1/2 Pearl framed by Styled Silver Hodgepodge & White Tafetta Ribbon, the fish in addition to being white embossed on Pumkin Pie CS have been coloured with a Not Quite Navy marker, the bubbles are drops off Crystal Effects. Blue Bayou CS for the card & the embossed layer is Actually White CS brayered in Soft Sky, not necessary for this look, but I was practising my Brayering emboss resist.

Ocean Commotion with Lot's of Dots

"Lot's of Dots" is the new jumbo wheel from the summer mini as is "Ocean Commotion" (designed for AUS & NZ). I embossed the wheel again!
-here it is white embossed. Colours are Going Grey, Basic Grey & Pumkin Pie. I silver embossed the rim of the 1 3/8" Basic Grey circle with silver (I rolled the edge in versa & then rolled again in silver & heated), thankyou is from "Occasional Greetings" & is also silver embossed & framed with Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. The "Ocean Commotion " images are stamped onto Whisper White inked with Pumkin Pie, punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch & adhered with Dimensionals.

Sunday 30 November 2008

Eastern Blooms faux metal

Taken with Teal is getting quite a workout!
I love this set & have faux metalled & embossed every flower from it! I particularly love the way this card turned out. I Silver embossed "Lots of Dots" wheel on Whisper White cs. Mr & Mrs is from "Occasional Greetings" stamp set, I also used Styled Silver Hodgepodge (glad this is available again in the Summer mini), some White Taffeta ribbon & a teal Brad. The card size is 6"x3" folded.

Saturday 29 November 2008

Say it with Scallops lovenotes

These cute & easy 3x3 cards are one of the make-n-takes from my open home Summer mini catalogue launch.

Supplies;
"Say it with Scallops" stamp set (the little butterfly on the Old Olive card is from "Live Your Dream").
Scallop Square Punch, White Gel Pen, paper piercer, Mat pack, Dimensionals & Snail Adhesive.
Bali Breeze DS Papers & Apricot Appeal Grosgrain Ribbon.
Taken with Teal, Old Olive & Apricot Appeal CS & inks.

Monday 24 November 2008

Eastern Blooms bleached & prettied

Well I can't wait another week so I have decided to share at least 1 card from the Summer mini with you all.
I have chosen "Eastern Blooms" Bleached & Prettied! I coloured the pretties flowers with ink & an aquapainter -I find this to be the easiest way as you can control the depth/shade of colour with the water.
Colours are Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal & Old Olive. I used markers for multicolouring the main image. I only had the thick bleach, (regular household bleach works better) so the Taken with Teal cardstock just went a couple of shade lighter, normally it bleaches more like Apricot Appeal, but I love this look anyway. I adhered 2 little 1/2 pearls with glue dots to the centre of the pretties flowers & used Old Olive 5/8" ribbon to balance the colours & 'cause I like it!
My husband has me thinking twice about using ribbon, he says I use it too much!

Sunday 23 November 2008

So Swirly Stars

Here's another card reverse masked. I used both Star punches for my template (punched out onto copy paper) I sponged with Bashful Blue & Wheeled "So Swirly" in Ballet Blue & dazzled a little with 2 way Glue & glitter, all while the mask was in place. When I removed the mask I stamped very merry from "Short & Sweet" inked in Ballet Blue & used the fine point of my Ballet Blue marker to draw the string & bows. The edges of the Whisper White are sponged in Ballet Blue & thats adhered with snail onto a Bashful Blue card.

Saturday 22 November 2008

Season Of Joy SSC card

Another card with "Season of Joy" stamp set & 1 ink pad!

SUPPLIES
Season of Joy stamp set.
Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava & Whisper White Cardstock.
Wild Wasabi Cassic Stampin pad.
Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon, Crimper, paper piercer & Mat Pack.
2 way glue, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals & Snail Adhesive.

I stamped the swirl & the little flower inked in Wild Wasabi randomly all over the Wild Wasabi card front. I crimped the Groovy Guava cardstock & tied a knot with Wild Wasabi double stitched ribbon around the the botton -I find dimensionals work better adhering crimped cardstock. I stamped the tree on Whisper White cardstock & paper pierced along the edge. I added some sparkle to the card with a glue pen & Dazzling Diamonds.

Tuesday 18 November 2008

Season of Joy reverse masked

Use your stamps & Wheels to reverse mask some Christmas baubles, here I used the tab punch (punched twice) to make a big circle mask on some copy paper, I sponged the circle in Elegant Eggplant onto Whisper White CS & stamped "Season of Joy" over the circle with the mask still in place, I added a little bling with some glitter & a Rhinestone Brad, it's a little hard to see but I glittered all around the white cs, this frames it so well. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch 2 holes next to each other so that I could tie a faux bow with Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon at the top of the bauble, I also threaded a piece of Silver cord through that as well, the sentiment is inked in Basic Gey -the colour of the card.

Monday 17 November 2008

Baroque Motifis Christmas card

This was another card we made at my Christmas SAS. An easy elegant Christmas card with "Baroque Motifs" & "Occasional Greetings", colours are Old Olive & Ruby red, I used the markers for the two tone sentiment. I also used the scallop punch, sponge daubers & a ruby red brad adhered with dimensionals.

Sunday 16 November 2008

Season of Joy faux baubles

I have a few Christmas card ideas to share, so apologies to subscribers in advance if you are overwhelmed with updates.
I really like the colours & the faux metal on this one. It took me a while to get "Season Of Joy" & now that I have it for my own I'm so glad I did get it before it goes. I do think it'll be back in the 2009-2010 Catalogue though -woow now that # seems a little pre-mature!
Colours are Basic Grey, Wild Wasabi & Whisper White. I love Faux metal, & with some punches I find you will always be creative. Punches are 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle, I should have also used the 1" now that I look at the pic, never the less, in real life this card is very striking. I couldn't resist using a new product from the summer mini & I'm loving it, A little clue -it's a punch!
I'm off to draw the winner of my "In the Spotlight" giveaway & I'll be back soon to show another card with more sneak peaks of the summer mini.

Time Well Spent card

The time I spend on stamping is always "Time Well Spent". A nice & easy card with a faux metal tag. Colours are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou & Groovy Guava. I love the softness of this card.

Wednesday 12 November 2008

Bloomin' with Beauty

I recieved this card from Lou (loves watercolouring) in the mail last week & had to share -it does bloom with beauty & the colours perfectly match my dining room & vase, you can actually see in the pic the colour of the kitchen, it's kinda inbetween turquoise & Blue Bayou, not sure that I'm use to it quite yet though -an unusual colour for a kitchen.
For the card Lou stamped the background with the textured image from "Oh So Lovely" on Blue Bayou inked in the same, the Mellow Moss piece has the definition image as the background from "Bloomin' with Beauty" available in the current Spring mini catalogue -sadly retiring in a couple of weeks -haven't those 3 months gone fast! The medium used for the beautiful watercolouring is inks -also used to sponge the edges, she also added a hodgepodge clip tied with a little Taffetta ribbon. I can see a case happening with this one!

Frog punch art book mark

I made this frog yesterday in Green Galore, showed it to my husband & he said "make it into a bookmark", -what a great idea! so I got the wide red Grosgrain ribbon & folded in 1/2, I punched an extra 1 3/8" circle to staple the ribbon in between 2 circles close to the top, Mr Frogs head covers the staple at the front & you can punch a 1 1/4" circle to hide it on the back. Separate the ribbon & the page goes in between so it's like a clip, the head sits on top & off the the page.
Punches for the frog are; 1 3/8", 1/2" & 1/4" circle, large & small Oval & a flower from Spring Flower Bouquet for the feet.
How cute is the scallop lamb, I made it at Cass's house last week, along with the turtle. I have made a little lamb before with the 5 Petal flower punch cut -(3 petals for the head & ears & 2 petals for the legs) but I do prefer this one using the large oval for the head & 3/4" circle cut in half for the ears, the legs are the word window cut in half, I just adore the little Boho Blossom flower punched for the woolly fringe with the gingham ribbon bow- these make a super cute embellishment for a baby card or scrapbook layout.

Class card

This is one of three cards I designed for my Christmas SAS class I had yesterday, & one that I will make a few more of for Christmas. I love the colour combo Sahara Sand, Soft Sky & Purely Pomegranate, I used 3 different stamp sets, "Many Merry Messages", "Merry Merry" & "Snow Flurries" I used the ½” & 1” circle Punches, Spring Silhouettes DS Paper & some purely Pomegranite & Soft Sky stitched ribbon.

The Snowflake Spot

Just a quick card I made, while I had "The Snowflake Spot" set out, the greeting is from "Many Merry Messages", the colours are Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou (textured), Whisper White & a touch of Soft Sky, I added some Red Grosgrain ribbon (1.6cm) & a red Bold Bright Brad, the snowflakes are embossed with Versa mark & White powder.
I'm off to finish prepping for a class of 29 & a workshop of 14, so today I will enjoy seeing 57 cards created!

Monday 27 October 2008

The Snowflake Spot

This card was inspired by a few cards, 1 in particular thanks Cass! The layout is simple -base card in Whisper White background stamped, I used "The Snowflake Spot" -images randomly stamped in Soft Sky & Blue Bayou inks, I then layered with Vellum which is adhered just up the top with Snail adhesive, I used my Two Way Glue & Dazzling Diamonds to highlight on the Vellum, how did I do the icicles? -with Crystal effects & Dazzling Diamonds of course! I got a piece of baking paper & placed the Textured Soft Sky torn piece on it & drew nice & thick a line that followed the torn edge & then dragged down onto the baking paper to form the icicles, I then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds, once dry (2-3hrs) I carefully peeled the Textured Soft Sky strip away from the baking paper & adhered it with Crystal Effects onto the card. This card looks stunning in real life. Oh the Silver Cord is retired but with a bit of luck we may see it back? Joy is silver embossed.

Saturday 25 October 2008

Wow! When I got this invite in the mail I looked at it for ages & admired all the work that went into it.
Sue is a wonderful & talented fellow stamper & it shows!

Sue chose colours of papers & inks that co-ordinate with Outlaw DS papers, the cowboy is a stamp is from stampworld -Sue was stamping long before Stampin' Up! was in Oz & has the most amazing collection which now includes alot of SU!
SU sets used are "Please Come", "Starstruck" & "Bronco" wheel, she also used the small Star & cnr rounder punch's. I'm sure all who recieve this invite will be amazed.

Friday 24 October 2008

Ribbon Flower & rub-ons card

I have been meaning to try these ribbon flowers for some time now, you can see how on this video tutorial here -real simple & super cute!
For this card I used textured Soft Sky cs & Blue Bayou with a scalloped edge (used the cnr rounder with guard off) the sentiment is a rub on which goes on ribbon beautifully.

Tuesday 21 October 2008

5th Birthday card

A little wheelin' with "Daisy Dash" (I used the white gel pen to highlight the centres of the flowers) & "Big Bold Birthday"
colours are Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron & Whisper White. I could have masked the cake top & stamped my candles behind but I decided to cut them out & adhere instead, they are topped with glue & glitter as is the edge of the frosting, I cut the little flower out after stamping it (tone on tone) & attached it with a white brad (silver originally) I just heat up the brad quite hot with the heat tool & dipped it into white embossing powder & heated again to set, use long tweezers so you don't burn your fingers.

Saturday 18 October 2008

Short & Sweet Cupcakes

How sweet! Teya made the little 3x3.
The 6x3 colours are Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana & Whisper White, I used the cnr rounder for the scalloped edge, the circle scallop, 1 3/8, 1 1/4 & 1/4" circle punches as well. Happy birthday is from "Happy Thoughts" set, we coloured the cupcakes with Soft Subtle crayons & Aquapainters & topped with Two Way Glue & Dazzling Diamonds glitter, see close up below.

Artfully Asian

Last week my new stamps & wheels arrived. "Artfully Asian" is one I've liked for a long time & with this months free wheelin' offer I couldn't resist. I also got "Nursery Necessities" & "Merry Merry", I will keep you posted on those plays!

The colours I chose Kraft, Real Red & Whisper White, I wheeled "Watercolour Vine" with my Sahara Sand ink, the blossom is stamped in Real Red, this piece is also stamped with "Linen" background in Sahara Sand. I watercoloured a little with Real Red & Wild Wasabi inks with my Aquapainter & then I just highlighted some with my white gel pen. The 3 brads were silver & to get them white you just heat the brad with a heat tool held with tweezers then dip the hot brad into white embossing powder, then heat it up again until it melts on. Since I had my powder out I decided to also emboss the message, "Each day provides its own gifts"

Here's another Artfully Asian card, The ribbon is Kraft Tafetta & I used the Double Rectangle punch,- remember this card from my make-n-takes at last Summers Mini launch.

Wednesday 10 September 2008

Inspired by a painting

I have been browsing home magazines lately & decided to case this card from a piece of artwork that caught my eye, I loved the colours & thought this would make a great card for the modern male, I silver embossed, crimped & simply punched circles, the colours are Naturals Ivory, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey & the sadly retired 2007-2008 in colour Cool Caribbean, I am loving this years in colours though & love the thought of some new ones next year as well, Baja Breeze will be a great replacement for my greatly missed Cool Caribbean & It will probably also be my favourite along with Pink Pirouette or maybe Riding Hood Red, don't you just love some of the names!

Wild Rose for mum

I finally mounted my "Frames with a Flourish" stamp set, I silver embossed one on Whisper White CS & cut it out, I 2 step stamped (most with the SAMJ) the "Wild Rose" & leaves in Rose Red & Old Olive, also cut out and adhered with dimensionals. The card is Old Olive & the top has "En Francais" for the background inked in Old Olive, I thought it would be a little tricky lining up the script lengthways, but I got it first time! The bottom of the card has some DS paper in Rose Red, the join is covered with some White Taffeta Ribbon, & the card is finished off with some "Pretties". Happy Birthday mum!

This one is for my Niece for her confirmation, I love how you can create your own patterned paper from stamps! "Floral" coordinates beautifully with "Wild Rose"

Monday 8 September 2008

Petal Prints ghost card

Look familiar? that's if your a SU demonstrator & you've got your September issue of Impressions.
For my customers out there, this technique is called ghosting & is very easy & very effective.
You will need a Brayer, Vellum CS & ink. Ink the brayer well by rolling it over the pad & then roll over the vellum until it is evenly coated with ink, quickly stamp a clean dry stamp onto the vellum to lift off the ink, allow it to dry thoroughly before adhering to your project. Colours are Old Olive, Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue, I love this colour combination.

Friday 5 September 2008

Pop up card

"Dare to be Fabulous" & "Polka Dot" Background stamps, colours are Purely Pomegranite, Groovy Guava & River Rock. The tutorial for the pop up card can be found on Splitcoast, it's a fun card to make & I'm sure a delight to recieve.

Wednesday 3 September 2008

Bag in a Box

I came across yet another great & easy tutorial & this one holds alot of chocolates! it stands 14cm tall. I've used my favourite DS paper Apple Cider & coordinating CS -Chocolate Chip, River Rock & Really Rust. happy thoughts from "Think Happy Thoughts" stamp set is inked in Chocolate Chip & punched out with 1 1/4" circle punch, I stamped the little flower on Really Rust CS with Really Rust ink, cut it out & attached it to the 1 1/4" circle with a vintage brad which is attached to a 1 3/8" Really Rust circle with a dimensional & then this is snailed onto a Chocolate Chip scallop -instead of piercing the scallops I used my White Gel pen & just dotted, I aslo did this for the attached scalloped strip at the bottom of the box -scalloped with the Cnr Rounder punch. I used the Round Tab punch for the Chocolate Chip tabs that have Jumbo eyelets set with the Crop-A-Dile -perfect for the Satin Ribbon closure!
Tips;
Use 2 tabs so you can open & close it, see pic below.
Do use sticky strip, snail isn't strong enough when its filled!
Reduce the measurements suggested in the tutorial for cute smaller ones.
Have fun!

origami paper shirt & tie card

I spent a few minutes looking at the different tutorials I searched for in google & followed this one I used many different word stamps from a few sets for the background all inked up in Brilliant Blue on Bashful Blue CS, the DS paper is Jersey Shore -Think this will make a great fathers day card!
