Merry Christmas

Here is one of the 4 designs of Christmas cards inspired by the talented marelle, the colours are Ruby Red & Old Olive on Very Vanilla, I am utilising Carte Postale fom the new Summer Mini alot lately & I think it works well here, this card was a breaze to create & I so enjoyed making them. I sent one to my past & future hostesses, loyal customers & friends, (family got a santa photo of Teya). I wish I had more time to send all of you a card, but we all know how busy we can get this time of the year & for me it has been non-stop since October. I had all intentions of making more, but I have been overwhelmed at how my Stampin' Up! business has grown, & I have you all to thank for that. I am looking forward to spending some quiet & special time with my family over Christmas, but I will be back to creating real soon, with lots more Workshops, Classes & SAS's in the new year. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & wonderful 2008, enjoy the festive season & keepstamping!

Monday 10 December 2007

I saw these candy canes on Marelles blog (she has a tutorial) & I thought "what a great idea" for Teya's kindy class instead of cards! once we finished them, I put together a 12x12 treat box & matched the colours of the candy canes, which are; Cranberry Crisp, Marigold Morning & Old Olive, the Holiday Thyme papers also co-ordinate with these colours. Teya can't wait to give them to all her little friends tomorrow.

Treat Box

I couldn't resist adding these to my two pocket tote class held on Saturday.
Holiday Thyme designer series papers (only available'till the 15th December) were used to decorate these very cute & useful little(8x8 inch) box's, perfect for little gifts to take to family & friends when visiting at this time of the year! We also stamped True Thyme, Cranberry Crisp, Bashful Blue & Old Olive Cardstock with the same inks, some with "Sleigh full of Toys" & some with "The Snow Flake Spot" Stamp Sets. The ribbon is from the Spring mini Catalogue- sadly now retired, but I stocked up on a few rolls as these beautifully co-ordinate with the Holiday Thyme Paper.

Carte Postale

My favourite Stamp Set from the Summer Mini Catalogue would have to be Carte Postale, it's beautiful on its own, but add the background stamp, wheel & Designer series paper & there's nothing you can't do.
I used Sage Shadow, Pale Plum & Not Quite Navy papers & inks, I decided to use French Script background stamp instead of French Flair, I dazzled all these cards with Glitter, I just popped a mini glue dot on the brad & dipped into Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, I also embossed glitter with heat & stick powder- click on the picture to enlarge to get a better look.

Rock-n-Roll Masking

The Rock-n-Roll technique is used to create these super simple & elegant cards. I just love All Year Cheer 1 Stamp Set (greetings).
I inked up the flower from Bodacious Bouquet in So Saffron & rolled the edges in Rose Red, I then masked the flower & stamped the leaves in Always Artichoke, I always love getting wows when the mask is removed, I added some dimensionals & Olive Organdy Ribbon to finish off.
I created this card for a beginners workshop & I must say all of the 10 made looked great!

All of the proceeds that Stampin' Up! receives from the All in the Family campaign will go directly into a fund dedicated to helping Dave's family.
I finally got a chance to play with "All In the Family" Stamp Set, it trully does make you think about family! I made a card for my Dear Daughter Teya (& cat) who she just adores! No occasion, I just wanted to let her know her mama loves her.
I decided to create my own patterned paper with Polka dots & Paisley stamp set, (only available to purchase 'till the 30 November) I stamped girl & cat with Stazon & coloured with Crayons & Aquapainter. I mounted on Pretty in Pink & Tempting Turquoise, those spots are highlited with White Gel Pen. I used my Markers on the Paisley stamp to colour Temtping Turquoise on centre flower, this was fun to create & Teya loves it!
All in the Family is available to purchase 'till the 30 November 2007, for $59.15 from me, I want to sell as many sets as I can for the Abbott familly, so I'm passing my Demonstrator discount onto you. Paper Bow Tutorial

The perfect Bow to create in minutes to co-ordinate with Wrapping or Gift Bags, you will never want to buy another Bow once you have tried these.

6" x 12" Double Sided Designer Series Paper (Holiday Thyme)
Paper Cutter
Pop Up Glue Dots
Adhesive
Brads
1/16" Circle Punch or Paper Piercer & Mat Pack

Step By Step Tutorial
Step 1. Cut 8 Strips of 1" x 6", 4 strips of 1" x 5" and 1 strip of 1" x 4".
It is important that you cut the 1" x 4" strip before cutting the 1" x 5" strips.
Lay out strips as in photo as each set of 4 will be joined as one.

Step 2. Apply Snail Adhesive on one end of each strip.

Step 3. Twist and secure all the strips as shown.

Step 4. Punch or pierce a hole at the bottom of each "petal"

Step 5. Use a brad to secure the "petals" together.

Step 6. Place a Pop Up Glue Dot on the each brad & layer -alternating the patterns.
The third layer is the 4 X 5" strips & the centre is 1 x4" strip it is rolled & glued last on top.

Voila!

Paper Bauble Tutorial

Supplies: 4 1/2" x 12" Double Sided Designer Series Patterned Paper (Holiday thyme)
15” length of Ribbon (Cranberry Crisp Stitched Grosgrain)
Paper Cutter & Paper Snips
Brads (Earth Elements)
1/8” Hand Held Circle Punch or paper piercer/Mat pack

Step By Step Tutorial

Step 1. Cut 7 strips of 4½” x 1” patterned paper
(if you are alternating patterns use an even number of strips),
In this case I use 6.

Step 2. Punch a hole at both ends of the stacked together papers.

Step 3. Double over the ribbon

Step 4. Push ribbon through one hole
and then the other

Step 5. Pull ribbon through to get desired loop length
& a C shape in the papers

Step 6. Insert the brad between the ribbon at both ends
(don’t secure to tightly or it will be hard to fan out the bauble in Step 7. )

Step 7. Fan the Bauble out

Have fun creating!
& keepstamping!

Christmas Tree

I've made so many paper decorations that are quick & easy.

A little Success

When I joined Stampin' Up (March this year), I thought I was just going to be a hobby Demonstrator, I could see the great value of the starter kit (almost 50% off) & wanted to purchase Stampin’ Up’s! great products at a discounted price, but before I knew it I was hosting my own workshop, meeting lots of wonderful people & hostesses, running classes, doing charity fundraising, recruiting my own downlines-the list goes on, but most importantly really enjoying being a Demonstrator! I signed up under Angela, who I met at last years Penrith Paper Craft Festival (mind you it took me almost 6 months, due to lots of moving all over the country) to sign up! & I am thrilled to have her as my upline, (Hi Ange). Just six months after joining SU I have achieved Stampin’start (another great incentive & benefit of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator) I have received in total 15 free stamp sets (my choice) & title of Supervisor. I am so enjoying this fantastic journey & am excited to be a part of such a wonderful company.
If you think you would like to sign up as Demonstrator, November is the month.
Buy the Starter Kit during November
and I'll give you a Set of Markers
(value $57.95) FREE!
This is only available from me, and your paperwork must reach SU! offices (with your ABN) by November 30 2007. Send me an email if you'd like an Obligation-free Information Pack. I would love for you to join me on this wonderful journey & in 6 months time hear your story!

all in the family

Last month we lost our Australian General Manager, Dave Abbott, to a rare blood disease. Dave was only 41 and left behind his wife and three young children. Stampin’ Up! being the incredible company they are have just released the stamp set called ‘All In The Family’ in Australia to raise money for Dave’s family. 100% of the proceeds of the sale of this stamp set worldwide will be donated to Dave’s young family - not just the profits but 100% of the sale price worldwide…. now that’s a company with heart!
Now is the time to buy this extremely versatile stamp set. All In The Family is available from 1st November to 30th November 2007 for $73.95 - however in order to help you out and to sell more sets for the Abbott Family, I will forfeit my commission and drop this price to $59.15 plus postage & handling. E-mail me now on petronelah@optusnet.com.au to order.
Here’s a handy link to a lady in the US who demonstrates using the All In The Family set with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (stamp position) - it’s a video tutorial and quite cool to watch: http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/

Two Pocket Tote Bag Tutorial

They're quick & easy to make & use just 1 sheet of Stampin' Up!'s
gorgeous double-sided Designer Series Paper. (Here I've used Petals & Paisleys) If you want to make one of these with matching Gift cards using Patterned Paper from the New Summer Mini Catalogue, email petronelah@optusnet.com.au me to reserve a seat for my December classes! I understand December can be a busy month for us all, so here is the step-by-step tutorial, I wouldn't want you to miss out!

Step 1. Score a piece of 12x12 Designer Series Paper at 1' & 11" (apply very little pressure)

Step 2. Apply snail adhesive to the scored 1" strips and fold inward
along the score lines.

Step 3. Turn the paper lengthways & score 3.5", from each side.

Step 4. Fold the paper on the score lines then apply snail adhesive
along one edge and adhere together.

Step 5. With open ends on the sides, score at 5"(you may want to
apply a little more pressure or score on both sides as you are
scoring a few layers)

Step 6. Score at 4 1/2" & 5 3/4" (you will now have 3 scored lines side by side)

Step 7. Fold as shown in the picture, making sure you have the
join on the inside when folded.

Step 8. Apply snail or double sided tape to join the two sides of the
tote together.

Step 9. Punch 2 holes on each side (Horizontal Slot)
and tie ribbon for handles.

Now you just need to stamp, embellish & fill.
Have fun with it!
